Hörnebo slate quarry is mentioned as one of Sweden’s most beautiful opencast mine. The mine, in which they extracted slate slab, was in use mostly in the late 1880s. There is a tunnel blasted in the mountain down to the two floor shafts. Here they have musical arrangements every summer. For more information contact the tourist office.
Directions:
Approximately 7 km northwest of Ramkvilla. Drive towards Landsbro from Ramkvilla. After approximately 800 m turn left towards Huluboda. Follow the road for about 6 km until you see the sign Hörnebo skiffergruva.
